Looking for a chance to connect with the community and provide an opportunity for local vendors and crafters to sell their wares, show off their craftsmanship, and promote their services, the staff and volunteers at the Canadian Transportation Museum & Heritage Village (CTMHV) were excited to host the annual Fall Flea Market over the weekend.
The two-day event allowed vendors and crafters a chance to set up shop along the winding path inside the Heritage Village, and also gave visitors a chance to not only shop and support local businesses, but also explore the museum grounds.
Though the historically significant houses and buildings onsite are typically closed during these types of events, visitors can still wander around the grounds and learn about their historical connections during some of the CTMHV’s outdoor events.
The CTMHV hosted the flea market just a few weekends after its widely successful Fall Fun on Wheels Car Show.
The CTMHV has a few events coming up, including its annual - and very popular- murder mystery. This year's installment is titled "Dead or Alive" and will take place October 25-27. Tickets must be pre-ordered.
Events hosted at the CTMHV typically support the Museum’s Children’s Education Program, which provides a hands-on learning experience to hundreds of area youths each year. Event proceeds also help to maintain the buildings onsite, which helps to grow the education department.
